Tell us a more iconic way to spend a Saturday afternoon than to visit the world’s oldest zoo, that is also located next to a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site of a Schönbrunn palace?

Yep, we thought so too. That’s why yesterday
some of the Grade 9 students caught a school bus ride to the Schönbrunn zoo. The weather was sunny and warm, so they managed to see many beautiful animals being out and about – pandas, polar bears, tigers, giraffes, elephants, and so many more.

Grade 9 also reflected on their biology lessons because the Schönbrunn zoo, with its 17 acres of territory and 700+ hosted species, provides a real-life insight into the biodiversity studies. The zoo also features 6 animal houses – rainforest house, the aquarium terrarium, the historic monkey house, the Polarium, the Polardom, and the Tirolerhof. Grade had so much fun traveling across these zones!

All in all, we are thankful to the Schönbrunn Zoo and its maintenance team for a great experience – we learned so much from the information stands, took a million of pictures, got a good glimpse into the lives of all these majestic animal creatures, and ate the most delicious Knoblauch Langos ever.
