Listening to Daniil Trifonov at the Vienna Konzerthaus

Recently our students enjoyed a wonderful artistic experience at the Vienna Konzerthaus, attending a concert by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal under the direction of Rafael Payare.

The program showcased a blend of contemporary and classical works, opening with Jeder Baum spricht by Iman Habibi, a moving reflection on nature and sustainability, then followed by Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major. The piano part was performed with breathtaking virtuosity by Daniil Trifonov, whose delicate rendition of Tchaikovsky’s Adagio from Sleeping Beauty left our students spellbound.

The evening concluded with Richard Strauss’s monumental Eine Alpensinfonie, a vivid and evocative musical journey through the Alpine landscape.
At Schloss Krumbach International School, such cultural trips deepen our students’ appreciation for the arts and connect them to Vienna’s rich musical legacy. Experiences like this are vital to educating them as young people interested in humanities, arts and sciences alike and nurturing creativity and global perspective, hallmarks of our IB philosophy.
